The Meaning Behind the Name.

We would like to tell you a little story behind our name.

We love to have fun and each time we got together as a group, we would end up staying up late cooking and drinking. Many nights ended up w/tequila shots from our favorite bottle of Patron Clear. When we entered our first competiton cooking, we would each take a shot of Patron as a good luck charm before we would turn in our entries. When you compete in chicken, ribs, and brisket, the third shot always hits the spot.
(That's why we like to enter cook-offs w/multi turn ins...just kidding.)

Anyway, we felt it was only right for us to use the 1st name as "Patron".
Patron is spanish for "The Boss". That's what our wives call us.....yeah right!

Kookers is the spanish slang for Cookers....not really!
The "kookers" part mainly came about from the night we were thinking about making the team. Not sure which one of us had too many Patron shots (most likely it was all of us) but our slurred words kept us saying "Kookers" vs "Cookers."

Our night ended with the Patron Kookers .......

Say it with me now, using a little spanglish........."PATRON KOOOOOKERS"

upon dictating this story....the author was under the influence of Patron
